LLiteratureiterature
A Devotee's Anthem
Hey, my name is Leigh, and for the rebirth of literature, I’ll find a way Today, I woke up on the wrong side of the bed And then, I realized it’s just all in my head Today, I thought about how I’d make literature stay
How does it stand today? Probably rotten and forgotten Mouths are tapered; words are forbidden! But I shall tell you, it does not deserve this ruthless disdain For I believe that enlightenment is what we should attain
Far across the world, precious words have been spread by Shakespeare But who would have thought that to an end, literature would come near? We study this throughout the year But why don’t we reserve a lending ear?
There’s all about the politics and paper-thin policies Oh, come on now, can’t we talk about poetry? Its message – filled with splendor yet murky as soiled water But those who understand, for language, reveals true ardor
It ignites the flames of our already burning spirits But behold; for its true eminence can’t be set by digits Stunning minds combined –flamboyant and wise
The faint flush of wit truly unspoken; I’m filled with “why’s” Stop fooling around and looking at the ground Gather your ears and voices cause without a doubt, we can make a sound
All we have to do is think or write with a pen and ink, and maybe that’s the hidden link So that together, we become in sync It’s time to make all ends meet; no need to repeat For if we start moving, we can make the ending oh, so sweet.
It’s time to send the message to the sleeping masses Take off their glasses; stare at the cosmos and take the chances In this era, we can’t just let things disappear into ashes We can’t mend our faults with patches for as humans, we ought to take some advances
