I was able to discover my life's goal within a minute of listening (which my parents have probably long since forgotten) and it was anchored in the idea of what genuine kindness can do. I have no intention of straying and if my father can find success by helping others while pursuing his passion, then so can I. Rest assured when the time comes and the opportunities enable me to, I'll bring the keys to the next child who feels every door to a decent future is locked tight.
EducationUSA, an advising organization for international students, launched a special International Education Week essay contest last November 2020.
Since the quarantine, most colleges have opted out of exams and have turned to requiring essay applications.
EducationUSA took this opportunity to challenge Filipino students of high school age to create their own college application essay answering one of two essay prompts!
These entries were judged on originality, grammar, structure, and argumentation.
Two of our writers made it to the Top 10 finalists, each answering one of the two prompts. They've allowed The Mover to publish their works here!
