COVER STORY
Style, confidence and finding your own identity beyond the spotlight.
Kaia Gerber has spent much of her life in front of a camera. With her unmistakable features, effortless style and famous supermodel mother, Cindy Crawford, modelling might have seemed like the obvious path. But at 25, Kaia is proving that her story is about far more than beautiful clothes and a famous surname. Today, she is carving out an identity that belongs entirely to her.
Gerber began modelling professionally as a teenager, quickly becoming one of fashion’s most recognisable new faces. Yet while the fashion world opened its doors, acting was always something she wanted to explore. She has spoken openly about her love of theatre as a child, attending Broadway shows, performing in community productions and studying acting seriously as she grew older. That determination is now paying off.
Her latest role, in Ryan Murphy’s television adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s The Shards, sees Gerber stepping firmly into the world of acting. Playing Susan Reynolds, a glamorous and complicated high-school student in 1980s Los Angeles, she is taking on a role that demands much more than looking the part. And perhaps that is the most interesting thing about Kaia: she appears increasingly comfortable being more than one thing.

In 2026, she also stepped further into the fashion business, joining American denim label RE/DONE as an investor, creative partner and advisory board member. Her first curated collection with the brand reflects her own understated approach to fashion, featuring vintage-inspired denim, classic white tees, tanks and timeless wardrobe staples designed to transcend fleeting trends. Her personal style tells a similar story.
Kaia has mastered the art of looking polished without appearing as though she has tried too hard. Whether she is walking a red carpet in couture or wearing denim and ballet flats on a casual day, there is an ease to her style that feels distinctly her own. But perhaps the greatest lesson from Kaia’s journey is that confidence isn’t about being perfect. It is about becoming comfortable with who you are while continuing to discover who you might become.
Growing up under constant scrutiny could easily have made her retreat behind the image expected of her. Instead, she has used that visibility to explore different sides of herself. Acting has allowed her to be vulnerable, to make mistakes and to step away from the expectation that she always needs to look flawless. For a generation surrounded by carefully curated images of perfection, that feels refreshingly relevant.
There is also something quietly refreshing about the way Gerber seems to approach fame. Rather than constantly chasing attention, she has allowed her work to speak for her, choosing projects that challenge her creatively and give her room to grow. She understands that building a lasting career is not about being everywhere at once, but about knowing what feels authentic.
Kaia Gerber may have inherited the genes that made her a fashion favourite, but her next chapter is one she is writing herself. And that, ultimately, is what makes her so compelling: she isn’t trying to become the next Cindy Crawford. She’s becoming Kaia Gerber.
Vale Presley Gerber With respect, we acknowledge the passing of Presley Gerber and extend our deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones at this sad time.
