  • Page 2On April 4, 2026, we had the opportunity to volunteer and take part in the Edmonton chap- ter's HKL Walk. It was a mean- ingful experience that reminded us how much small acts of kind- ness can impact people Our walk began at the Faculty Club at the University of Alber- ta and continued to the Legisla- ture Grounds. Along the way, we handed out flowers, spoke with community members, and shared HKL's message of com- passion, positivity, and equality. Even though handing someone a flower seemed simple, it made a real difference to many of the people we met.

  • Tao Te Ching: Humility Is PowerWhen we think of humility, we often picture someone who is meek, small in stature, sub- missive, or powerless. How- ever, true humility is far from weakness. It is a divine quality that carries the power to move mountains. Throughout his- tory, many great leaders have demonstrated the strength that comes from humility. Examples include Moses, David, and, in the 18th century, Bhai Bachit- tar Singh. One of the clearest demonstrations of humility's power can be found in some- thing we encounter every day: water. The supreme goodness is like water.

At first, it seemed like just another novel, but it quickly became captivat- ing, and I couldn't put the book down. The reading experience felt meditative because of how peaceful and deeply reflective the writing was. The emotions, conversations, and struggles felt incredibly real, which made it more powerful and unforgetta- ble. The story follows Ella Ru- binstein, a woman who feels trapped and disconnected from her life, while also exploring the extraordinary bond between Rumi and Shams of Tabriz. I especially liked how relatable Ella's character was-her strug- gles, imperfections, and confu- sion felt human and authentic.

On n May 15th, HKL Vol- unteers took a roadtrip to the TASC Tulip Farm in Niagara. The tulip farm's motto "Grow Together," beautifully reflects the spirit of the Global HKL Movement and the International Conferences of growing togeth- er and blossoming into our most beautiful selves. Like flowers, we learn to spontaneously and effortlessly spread the fragrance of Humility, Kindness, and Love wherever we go.

The volunteers shared many meaningful exchanges with members of the public, the workers, and the owner of the farm. Right away, we were greeted by one of the workers, who became deeply emotion- al after hearing what the HKL Movement is all about.

As we were picking our Tulips, we were approached by another beautiful soul who asked us, tase inner revolution we asked the question, "How can we take Humility, Kindness, and Love to every heart in the city?"

Like the soup, we let the ques- tion sit and simmer within us for a few minutes. We agreed that every night before going to bed we would ask this question, How can we take Humility, Kindness, and Love to every heart in the city?

in great anticipation of receiv- ing the response in our dreams and in our day to day lives.

We then explored some of the achievements so far such as to (share examples to inspire others) with the Movement in Kingston and delegated specif- ic tasks for each volunteer to be completed by the next gath- ering. We ended the session by drinking the soup, sharing laughs, and washing dishes.

We are very grateful for this space to connect with the Di- vine for signing up for HKL daily commitments, for people who are sincere about bringing change in themselves and to the world around them, and for the illuminated beings who out of their utmost compassion instill such pure thoughts and dreams in our otherwise clouded hearts, lifting us to new heights.

The first official gathering of Humility, Kindness, and Love (HKL) in Kingston, Ontario, Canada took place on Wednes- day May 13 2026. The gather- ing was held at Kingston Com- munity House at 99 York Street. Volunteers settled in with some warm Matcha Lattes as fresh vegetable soup was prepared in the kitchen. Did you know that cooking and eating together is one of the most meaningful ways to establish bonds with each other?

The gathering commenced with introductions and setting an in- tention. The common intention of the group was to take a pause from the busyness of the world and experience a renewed sense of peace that we could take back with us to our homes and our community. We started with meditating on all the things we were grateful for, all the little things we may have overlooked since the start of the day. We then practiced a simple yet deep meditation of synchronizing Name with breath. Taking any name for the Divine, be it God, Creator, Dios, Allah, Ram, Va- heguru, etc. and splitting it into two pieces. Then, intertwining the first half of His name with the inhalation and the second half with the exhalation.

This was followed by listening to a poetic piece from the 6th In- ternational Conference of HKL in the UK that focussed on the plight of the world. With this in- spiration and a strong desire for HKL

"Do you know the secret behind Tulips?"

We did not know the secret. They then explained how their Godfather had told them that, "Tulips may seem simple on the outside, but inside is where the true beauty lies."

As we opened up a tulip, we saw the intricate designs and subtle fragrance hidden behind its simple petals. In the same way, when we look within, we find the inner beauty and fra- grance of Divine love present in each one of us. How beautiful!
