and prayed to the same Divine.
Santa Monica brought an especially heart-touching encounter.
Their prayer ended together with one word:
Among the many meaningful Amen.
As the prayer came to an end, experience became particularly tears could be seen in the young unforgettable — both for the man’s eyes.
volunteers involved and for the attendees they encountered.
A group of three attendees approached members of the HKL team and respectfully asked one of the volunteers if he was Muslim. He shared that he came from the Sikh faith and explained that what they were witnessing extended beyond any one religion, faith, or political belief.
As the conversation continued, one of the young men turned to the volunteer and asked:
What made the experience so powerful was how naturally everything else disappeared in that moment. No one was thinking about who was Sikh, Christian, Muslim, or where anyone came from. Those distinctions simply weren’t there. A young man had opened his heart and asked another human being to pray for him, and everyone came together in prayer.
Just moments earlier, they had been complete strangers.
The sincerity of the request immediately made the moment deeply personal.
When asked what he would like the prayer to be for, the young man shared that, as he approached adulthood, he wanted to be free from the distractions around him and reconnect more deeply with the Divine.
In that moment, the volunteer turned inward toward Guru Nanak Sahib Maharaj Ji with one thought:
“This is the true HKL. This is what You were talking about. This is it.”
And there, in the middle of Santa Monica, people who had never met before gathered together
For the volunteers, it became one of those experiences that stays with you. They had come to Los Angeles and Santa Monica with the purpose of carrying the message of HKL from one soul to the next. And in this simple, unexpected interaction, they witnessed that message come alive before their own eyes.
There was nothing staged or planned about it. It was simply a moment of genuine human connection — one that reminded everyone involved how quickly the things that seem to divide us can disappear when one human heart sincerely opens to another.
For that moment, there were no differences between them.
Easy • Eggless • Vegetarian • Serves 4
500 ml heavy cream 60 g sugar (about ¼ cup) 1 tsp agar-agar powder (about 2–3 g) 1 tsp vanilla extract
1. Mix the agar-agar powder with the sugar in a small bowl. This helps prevent lumps from forming.
2. Add the cream and the sugar and agar-agar mixture into a saucepan. Stir well.
3. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer for 1–2 minutes so the agar-agar fully activates.
4. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
5. Pour into 4 small glasses or ramekins.
6. Let cool for a few minutes, then refrigerate for about 2–3 hours until set.
7. Serve chilled with fresh berries, mango, or fruit sauce.
Tip: Agar-agar sets more firmly than gelatin. If you prefer a softer panna cotta, use slightly less agar-agar.
