HKL at Bondi Beach with Sydney Surf Crew
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA
The HKL movement continued to spread across Sydney through a series of six HKL Walks held in different parts of the city. Each walk brought volunteers together with a shared purpose: to spread Humility, Kindness, and Love, connect with new people, and introduce the wider community to the HKL movement.
The first walk took place at Nurragingy Reserve on 27 September, marking the beginning of the Sydney HKL Walks. Surrounded by nature and families enjoying the reserve, volunteers met members of the public, introduced them to HKL, and shared the message behind the movement.
Cards were also handed out, encouraging people to carry out simple acts of kindness and pass that kindness on to others.
The movement then reached the heart of Sydney at Martin Place on 3 October, where volunteers handed out roses to members of the public. Each rose offered a simple yet meaningful way to share the message of HKL and create a moment of connection. Volunteers spoke with people from different backgrounds about the movement and the importance of bringing Humility, Kindness, and Love into everyday life.
During the walk, volunteers also met street rapper Allurn, who performed a rap dedicated to HKL. His performance brought an unexpected and memorable moment to the day, sharing the message of Humility, Kindness, and Love in a creative way. Whether through offering a rose, starting a conversation or sharing music, these small interactions showed how kindness can brighten someone’s day and leave a lasting impression.
From Martin Place, volunteers continued through Hyde Park on 3 October. The peaceful surroundings offered a different atmosphere from the busy city streets, while still providing many opportunities to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Volunteers handed out Kindness Cards, spoke about HKL, and continued introducing the movement to those they met along the way.
On 4 October, the HKL Walks moved to Parramatta Square, where volunteers connected with the local community in the busy centre of Parramatta. As people passed through the square, volunteers introduced them to HKL and shared the values at the heart of the movement. Each conversation offered an opportunity to encourage others to consider how Humility, Kindness, and Love can become part of their everyday interactions.
Later that day, the walk continued along the Parramatta River. As volunteers walked along the river, they met new people, handed out Kindness Cards and continued conversations about HKL. The walk provided another opportunity to put the movement’s values into action through genuine connection and simple acts of kindness.
The final walk of the Sydney se ries took place at Bondi Beach on 5 October. With people from many different places gathered at the beach, Bondi provided a fitting location to bring the six walks to a close. Volunteers handed out yellow flowers to members of the public, offering another simple gesture of kind-
ness and a way to begin conversations.
The Sydney Surf Crew also joined the walk to take photos, capturing the energy and spirit of the HKL movement at Bondi Beach. Volunteers continued meeting members of the public, sharing Kindness Cards and introducing people to HKL, bringing the Sydney series to a meaningful close.
Across all six walks, the focus went beyond simply gathering sign-ups. The greater purpose was to spread awareness of the HKL movement, share its message, and connect with more beautiful souls. A rose at Martin Place, a rap dedicated to HKL, a Kindness Card passed to a stranger, a yellow flower at Bondi Beach or simply a meaningful conversation all became opportunities to put Humility, Kindness, and Love into action.
