St Mary the Blessed Virgin Parish Magazine March 2026
As tradition dictates, the new incumbent then led their new parish in the intercessions.
After the Peace, we sang This Is Amazing Grace, and the bishop led us into the Eucharistic Prayer. Communion was shared while a beautiful rendition of the Taizé Bless the Lord, My Soul was sung by a soloist, gently and harmoniously supported by the congregation.
A formal welcome from the Churchwardens followed, accompanied by a well-earned round of applause. Other dignitaries from the parish, deanery and wider community also greeted Mo. After the final blessing, a rousing Shine, Jesus, Shine brought the service to a joyful close.
Nibbles and conversation followed, and then we boarded the coach home this time via the Blackwall Tunnel. Once again we had to navigate the still-blocked road between West Wickham and Hayes, but the final stretch down the "mad mile", usually a crawl, was taken at the full speed limit. We dismounted the coach, weary but content, walking home with the sure knowledge that God's ministry in Tottenham Hale is in very safe hands indeed.
