Teenagers and Cats
Have you ever thought how much teenagers can be like cats? Staying with my nephews over the Christmas holiday got me thinking: Neither teenagers nor cats turn their heads when you call them. No matter what you do for them, it's never enough. Both expect you to wait on them hand and foot.
You rarely see a cat walking outside with an adult. Likewise, teenagers wouldn't want to be seen in public with their parents. Cats and teenagers can lie on the settee for hours on end without moving... and barely breathing.
They both eat some very odd things at very odd hours!
Cats and teenagers yawn in exactly the same manner, communicating that ultimate ecstasy...a sense of complete and utter boredom.
Neither cats nor teenagers will improve the state of your furniture. Cats have nine lives; teenagers act as if they did.
Remember, above all else, put out their food and don't make any sudden moves in their direction. Both cats and teenagers will decide to come and eat it when they feel like it.
When they make up their minds cats and teenagers will come to you for some comfort and affection. This will be a triumphant moment for all concerned.
