Sadly we were not allowed to take photos on the famous zebra crossing because of the traffic accidents on the busy road. However, it was a truly wonderful experience for us Rockies, never to be forgotten.
NB. The Abbey Road Studios first opened in 1931 with Sir Edward Elgar conducting 'Land of Hope and Glory' attended by major celebrities of the day. Since then, anyone who is anyone has recorded there, orchestras and Rock bands alike. Today theme tunes for films are still being recorded there and it has continued to develop technically. It is in constant use by people from all over the world.
Your Worth
Whilst staying with my sister in Derbyshire recently I heard a thought-provoking sermon given by the vicar at her local church. It began with him taking a £20 note from his pocket and holding up to the congregation. "Who would like to have this new, crisp, clean £20 note?" he asked. Everyone raised their hands. He continued, “Before I give it to sometime I'm just going to do something to it.” He then proceeded to scrunch up the pristine note into a tight crumpled ball in his hand, after which he opened it out and then held it up again. "Who wants it now?" he asked. Once again all the hands went up. Before I finally give it away I'm just going to do one more thing to it." He dropped it and trod all over it with the sole of his shoe, grinding it into the floor until it was very dirty. He picked it up and showed it to us once more. "Does anyone still want it?" he asked. Again, everyone raised their hand. "My friends,” the vicar continued, "you have all learnt a valuable lesson. No matter what I did to this money you still wanted it because it didn't decrease in value. It was still worth £20. Many times in our lives we are crumpled and crushed, dropped and ground into the dirt because of things we've said or done that didn't meet other's approval. It may leave us feeling worthless and unwanted, but no matter what anyone says or does to hurt you, you will never lose your worth in God's eyes. To Him, dirty or clean, crumpled or creased, you are still priceless."
