  • THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF KINDNESSKindness often starts with something small: A smile, a compliment, or a simple act of help. Yet these small actions can evoke a ripple effect that extends far beyond the original moment. When someone experiences kindness, they are often inspired to pay it forward. A person who feels appreciated may offer en- couragement to someone else. A thoughtful gesture can bright- en someone's day and influence how they treat others.

  • Page 7We often don't realize how much we can keep with us from a simple, 30-minute interaction. A genuine conversation has the power to ignite the heart, inspir- ing us to look deeper at what a peaceful life actually requires. This is exactly what happened during a recent Uber ride from the San Francisco airport. When I least expected it, I received a profound gift from a man named Faizan. Our talk began with a simple question about his day. Faizan shared that he had been driving for hours, barely sleeping, often resting in his car just to keep up with the payments. He spoke of a time when life was simpler a time before he even knew that a word like "stress" existed.
