  • THE RIPPLE EFFECT OF KINDNESSKindness often starts with something small: A smile, a compliment, or a simple act of help. Yet these small actions can evoke a ripple effect that extends far beyond the original moment. When someone experiences kindness, they are often inspired to pay it forward. A person who feels appreciated may offer en- couragement to someone else. A thoughtful gesture can bright- en someone's day and influence how they treat others.

Volunteers had the privilege of preparing special laddus for the Muslim community that gathers at the Islamic Society of Kingston (ISK) to pray and break their fast at sundown known as Iftar. Laddus are traditional sweets originating from the Indian subcontinent; they are formed in the shape of spherical balls made of various ingredients.

  • THE IMPORTANCE OF HKL IN OUR LIFEWith SO much happening around the world, the future can feel uncertain, even bleak at times. It's hard to know what to hope for the next generation when we ourselves feel unsure about the present. In many ways, the way we think shapes the way we live. Our mindset doesn't just affect us internally; it influences our motions without realizing that feel this way? What can I do we're not truly happy.

A genuine conversation has the power to ignite the heart, inspir- ing us to look deeper at what a peaceful life actually requires. This is exactly what happened during a recent Uber ride from the San Francisco airport. When I least expected it, I received a profound gift from a man named Faizan. Our talk began with a simple question about his day. Faizan shared that he had been driving for hours, barely sleeping, often resting in his car just to keep up with the payments. He spoke of a time when life was simpler a time before he even knew that a word like "stress" existed.

HOMECOMING:

JOURNEY TO TRUE SELF WEEKLY MEDITATION

CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA ly lives. Nearly all describe the same quiet realization:

Weekly Meditation with HKL Calgary

There are no prerequisites. No expectations. Just presence.

What if the peace you've been searching for is not somewhere out there but quietly waiting within you?

The stillness was always within them.

Since its launch, participants have described a deep sense of peace that stays with them long after they leave.

The name Homecoming is in- tentional. Because often, we are not lost, we are simply discon- nected.

"I didn't realize how heavy my week felt until I sat down and just breathed. By the end, I felt lighter."

Each Sunday evening, individu- als from all walks of life gather for Homecoming: Journey to True Self: a weekly meditation (Simran) experience rooted in breath awareness. The intention is simple:

In the spirit of Humility, Kind- ness, and Love, HKL Calgary welcomes everyone regardless of faith, age, or experience.

"It's the one place in my week where my mind truly slows down."

To return.

Every Sunday 7:00 PM 7:45 PM 8730 45 St NE, Calgary, AB

"There's no pressure here. You can just be."

The session begins by anchor- ing into the breath, slowing down, softening the mind, al- lowing the body to release the weight of the week. From there, Simran becomes the bridge in- ward gently quieting external noise and reconnecting us to our inner divine source.

If you've been feeling over- whelmed, restless, or simply cu- rious, around the area consider, this your invitation.

Many share that they walk in carrying stress, racing thoughts, or restlessness and walk out feeling grounded, calm, and internally settled. Some speak of sleeping better. Others no- tice more patience in their dai-
