They are also focused on expanding their winter tourism experience. With financial assistance from CEDF, they purchased equipment to start offering ice fishing packages for avid anglers who may not have all the equipment for winter fishing. These packages provide everything you need for a day out on the lake.
Kathy Ruiter shared that it's been a great experience working with CEDF. They are starting into their 10th year in business and they are looking forward to the adventures ahead.

Whether it is summer or winter - if you're up for some world class fishing and northern hospitality, Paint Lake Lodge is the perfect destination. Located within Paint Lake Provincial Park, just south of the City of Thompson, the lodge offers incredible drive-to pickerel fishing on one of northern Manitoba's premiere lakes year-round.
It is a family affair for Kathy and Barry Ruiter, owner and operators of Paint Lake Lodge with both their daughter and son also working for their business. Summer is peak season for managing their licensed 150 seat dining room and lounge, nine fully equipped cabins, full- service store with tackle, bait, gas and ice cream shop. They also offer fishing guides, boat rentals and recently opened their repair shop on weekends with onsite power sports technician.
The lodge is open on weekends during the winter and is a popular destination for snowmobilers, cabin goers and ice fishing. As part of their marketing strategy to grow their business, they are working on a video with Travel Manitoba to promote Paint Lake Lodge as a destination hotspot.
