San Bernardino Native Jayden Daniels Hosts First Annual Community Day at Cajon High School
NFL quarterback and San Ber- nardino native Jayden Daniels re- turned to his hometown in a big way, hosting the First Annual Jayden Daniels Foundation Com- munity Day at Cajon High School from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday. The event, held on the football field of Jayden Daniels Stadium, brought together fami- lies, children, and community partners for a morning of fun, connection, and inspiration.
The event was sponsored by the San Bernardino City Unified School District (SBCUSD), the San Bernardino Police Depart- ment, the County of San Ber- nardino, and Fifth District Super- visor Joe Baca. Baca was on sight passing out backpacks along with SBCUSD Board Members Felicia Cousar Alexander and Danny Tillman. Adding to the buzz, NFL Films and Netflix were on-site capturing footage for a future fea- ture, highlighting Daniels' journey and the impact of his foundation.
Over 43 vendor booths lined the field, providing free resources, giveaways, and information for families. Children received back- packs, school supplies, sports gear, and more. Attendance re- quired pre-registration, and antici- pation was high leading up to the event.
No one showed more excitement than Emma Levario, an incoming 5th grader at Lugonia Elementary School in Redlands. Emma and her family-mom Michelle, dad Bert, and cousin Isaiah arrived at 8:00 AM, two full hours before the gates opened. "It's a family thing for us," said Bert. “Emma loves football and was so excited to hopefully see Jayden. She even plays for the NFL Flag I.E. Ra- vens!"
Daniels, the Washington Com- manders' star rookie quarterback, spent the morning interacting with kids, signing autographs, and handing out prizes. One lucky stu- dent took home an iPad after cor- rectly answering a trivia question about Daniels' first rookie-year touchdown.
Jayden Daniels, who played high school football at Cajon and went on to star at LSU before be- ing drafted into the NFL, was vis- ibly moved by the support of his hometown.
"This is where it all started for By Angela Coggs me," Daniels said. "San Bernardi- no made me who I am. Giving back to this community, especial- ly the kids, means everything. I want them to know they're seen, they're supported, and that their dreams are possible."
Families enjoyed food, games, music, and one-on-one moments with local heroes and community leaders. The Community Day is expected to become an annual tra- dition, reinforcing the mission of the Jayden Daniels Foundation: to uplift youth through sports, edu- cation, and mentorship.
With this inaugural event, Jayden Daniels proved that while his arm may take him far on the football field, his heart remains right at home in San Bernardino.
