JAZZ
The forecast once again promised picture- perfect weather, setting the stage for a sun- soaked celebration in Panama City Beach. Held at scenic Aaron Bessant Park beside Pier Park, the festival welcomed jazz lovers from across the country to enjoy music, food, sunshine, and the spirit of live performance at its finest.
This year's festivities opened with two exclusive ticketed events: a dinner cruise marking the return of Seabreeze favorite Mindi Abair, and a sunny jazz brunch cruise featuring Peter White, who delighted guests with his signature guitar work and even a touch of harmonica while sailing through the waters of St. Andrews Bay. With the scent of sunscreen in the air and anticipation building, the tone was set for an unforgettable four-day celebration.
The festival showcased 22 exceptional acts representing the best in smooth jazz. Legendary funk and R&B favorites such as Morris Day & The Time and The Commodores brought audiences to their feet with hit-filled, high-energy shows that had fans dancing and singing along. Each day unfolded like a musical journey, with artists delivering dynamic sets that kept the momentum alive from start to finish.
When the sun dipped below the horizon, the energy simply shifted rather than faded. After- parties at Pompano Joe's kept the celebration going, giving fans a chance to mix, mingle, and extend the vibe into the night. Guests enjoyed appetizers while sipping cocktails or soft drinks surrounded by music and conversation.
Tickets go on sale June 1, so be sure to follow the Seabreeze Jazz Festival on Facebook for the latest updates and announcements.

CON What Time Is It?
Thursday at the Seabreeze Jazz Festival opened with the effortless cool of Steve Oliver and Jessy J, their smooth interplay setting the tone early. BMP-with Brian Bromberg, Paul Brown, and Michael Paulo kept things rolling with a tight, seasoned set that leaned on chemistry over flash.
As the sun started to dip and the lights took over, Nathan Mitchell featuring Erin Stevenson delivered a set that felt like silk with a heartbeat, smooth, emotive, and quietly powerful. Followed by a horn-driven one-two punch from Kirk Whalum and Mindi Abair, each bringing their own fire and finesse, trading cool grooves and soulful runs that kept the crowd locked in and swaying.
Then came the moment everyone was waiting for: Morris Day and The Time. The energy flipped instantly as showmanship took center stage, pulling the crowd to their feet for a full-on dance party. Familiar hits, big smiles, and just enough lyrical guessing turned the night into a joyful, funk- fueled finale. Yes, you do know what time it is.

Morris Day and The Time
And then, right on cue, the question answered itself: yes, it was time for Morris Day and The Time. Swagger met nostalgia in a high-energy finale where showmanship ruled the stage and the crowd happily surrendered. Every beat felt familiar in the best way, pulling everyone to their feet, dancing, laughing, and half-singing lyrics we all almost remembered. It wasn't just a performance, it was a full-on time machine with a funk soundtrack.
Friday came in blazing and Cindy Bradley answered with a cool splash of pink trumpet swagger. A familiar voice from Seabreeze 106.3, she and her band set the tone with effortless polish before handing things off to DW3, who rolled in like a traveling party with no intention of slowing down. Their set didn't just play to the crowd, it pulled the crowd into the show, all rhythm and charisma.
Next up, Rhythm and Groove featuring Marion Meadows, Brian Simpson, and Althea Rene delivered a hit-filled set. The Jazz Holdouts, the Seabreeze Rising Stars, eased us into sunset mode with a groove.
Then came Damien Escobar, who had the crowd swaying with phones up glowing like fireflies as his violin danced over bass-heavy beats. Closing the night, The Commodores turned the clock back without missing a step, sliding through classics like “Brick House" and "Nightshift” with the kind of ease that only legends can afford, sending everyone home humming and just a little reluctant to let the night end.
The band's biggest hit singles are ballads such as "Easy," "Three Times a Lady," and "Nightshift," alongside funk-driven dance tracks like "Brick House," "Fancy Dancer," "Lady," and "Too Hot ta Trot." The Commodores were inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame and the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and have won one Grammy Award from nine nominations. The group has sold over 70 million albums worldwide, a testament to their smooth blend of soul, pop, and groove that still fills dance floors and late-night playlists alike.

Damien Escobar
Damien Escobar is a world-renowned violinist, author, entrepreneur, and philanthropist from Jamaica, Queens, New York. His career spans more than a decade and is shaped as much by his music as by his story: early success, a dramatic fall, and a determined rebuild that turned resilience into part of his signature sound. That lived experience sits beneath every performance, giving his artistry a weight that goes beyond technical skill.
At the Seabreeze Jazz Festival, he pulled the audience into a deeply personal space, even in a crowded venue. Sitting on a stool under a single spotlight, he created the feeling of a one- on-one concert, where every note felt direct and unfiltered. The crowd moved through emotion with him as his violin shifted from tender restraint to soaring intensity, leaving behind not just applause, but the impression of having witnessed something quietly unforgettable.

Friday the stage opened like a passport stamped in sound when Jonathan Butler stepped in, his voice and guitar sketching warm African tones across the crowd. From there, Jazz in Pink featuring Maria Antoinette and Gail Johnson delivered a bold all-female wave of groove and elegance, while Vincent Ingala moved between sax and guitar with the fluid ease of changing stations on a dream.
Seabreeze Rising Star guitarist Darrell Taylor added a fresh spark to the flow, an artist audiences have seen before alongside other performers. Seabreeze first-timer Nik West arrived ready with her bass in hand, locking in with her band to build a deep, electrified pulse that held the room steady and moving. Later, the energy turned glossy and electric as Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, and Peter White took command, trading melodies like seasoned conversationalists. Trumpet, sax, and guitar intertwined in seamless motion, closing the set with a refined burst of fire that lingered well after the final note dissolved.

Peter White
Rick Braun, Richard Elliot, and Peter White lit up the Seabreeze Jazz Festival stage with a burst of effortless chemistry, trading melodies like seasoned storytellers passing a well-worn guitar between friends. Rick Braun's bold trumpet lines, Richard Elliot's soulful sax phrasing, and Peter White's fluid guitar work blended into a high-energy set that felt both tightly woven and joyfully unpredictable.

The stage opened with the fresh pulse of TNR Collective featuring Ryan La Valette, BK Jackson, Adrian Crutchfield, and Lemek, a lineup that felt like a new chapter in smooth jazz's evolving story. Their set carried confident energy, blending technical fire with a laid-back glow that drew the crowd in from the first note. Flutist Kim Scott followed with a shimmering performance, equal parts charm and precision. Then Eric Darius kept the momentum soaring, his saxophone lines cutting clean through the air with signature lift.
Later in the evening, Will Downing stepped in with a voice built for velvet-lit nights, delivering smooth, soulful phrasing that reminded everyone why his catalog has endured. The grand finale belonged to Dave Koz & Friends Summer Horns, a full celebration led by Marcus Anderson, Jeff Bradshaw, Evan Taylor, Marcel Anderson, and Leo P, backed by a powerhouse band that never let the energy dip. Marcel Anderson's vocals added a vibrant spark, turning the set into a wave of sound that held the audience until the final note.

Dave Koz & Friends Summer Horns
Dave Koz & Friends Summer Horns lit up the stage in a swirl of what looked like chaos at first glance, but quickly revealed itself as tightly choreographed brilliance. Each musician seemed to drift in and out of focus like threads in a fast-moving tapestry, yet nothing was accidental; every entrance, every blast of horn, every rhythmic jab snapped into place with intent. Dave Koz's ensemble spanned four generations of talent, and that range didn't just show up in age or experience, it showed up in attitude, tone, and fire. The result was a performance that felt like a living conversation between eras, all speaking at once but somehow never talking over each other.

The energy is irresistible with smooth jazz, world-class talent, and laid-back beach vibes. It's no surprise the Seabreeze Jazz Festival's after-parties have become a must-attend tradition. These exclusive, ticketed events are ideal for those who spend the day enjoying sun and sound, then keep the rhythm going well into the evening. And yes, plenty of fans make a full day (and night) of it.
This year, four unforgettable after-parties brought the nights to life at Pompano Joe's at Pier Park, right along the Gulf. As doors opened, guests sipped cocktails or iced tea while sampling flavorful appetizers. Standouts included the perfectly seasoned boiled shrimp and reggae rolls paired with a sweet chutney.
Seabreeze Festival emcee Becky Taylor welcomed the crowd and in an instant, the party was underway. With live music, dancing, and an easygoing atmosphere, the after-parties carried the jazzed spirit long after sunset.
Lindsey Webster - Thursday, DW3 - Friday, Eric Darius - Saturday, Adam Hawley - Sunday,
The Seabreeze Jazz cruises were both aboard the Solaris Dinner Yacht. We traveled on scenic St. Andrews Bay. The dinner cruise guests watched the sunset while enjoying cocktails, dinner, and great conversations.
Peter White
At the brunch cruise, we ordered some mimosas and enjoyed a yummy breakfast brunch. What goes better after brunch? A beautiful cruise around the bay, a great view, or jazz from Peter White? We had them all!
